Like any nonprofit, we solicit for donations, but we...

>Never ask for quid pro quo donations (e.g., make individuals or organizations donate money to receive a flower to lay on TUS or donate money in order to participate or volunteer)

>Never use donations to purchase goods or services from a for-profit entity with which our foundation, officers, or directors have an interest or a family relationship (e.g., accept donations that we use to buy supplies from a for-profit business owned by our executive director's spouse)

>Never provide financial compensation to our directors for their time (e.g., pay members of our board a salary or hourly wage for doing foundation work)

The Tomb of The Unknown Soldier unites our country; it embodies what connects us and transcends our differences, helping us:

• Ensure those who served, serve, or will serve will never be forgotten, particularly those who made the ultimate sacrifice or who never returned,
• Reunite America with the sense of patriotism and principles that define our national identity
• Renew a national ethic of service to our country

1. We maintain information about donations in order to properly maintain our financial records and to file our tax documents and help you file yours.
2. Unless you tell us not to do so, we maintain contact information so that we can let you know about our activities and plans. If you tell us not to contact you about donations or our activities and plans, we won't do that.
3. We never sell, trade, or give information about our members or those who have donated to other charities or businesses. Unless you tell us not to do so, we do publicize who our members are and examples of service and sacrifice.
4. The businesses with whom we team to maintain our web and social media presence, to process donations, and perform other business functions either comply with our policies or have stricter privacy policies themselves.
